Read on for details of the goods and services that won an award this year for their contribution to the development of the packaging-free sector.

The Trophées du Vrac awards

A new feature for the 3rd Salon du Vrac trade fair - the Trophées du Vrac awards

The awards acknowledge innovation that helps to popularise packaging-free retail.

Exhibitors at the fair can enter five categories :

  • Food
  • Cosmetics and detergents
  • Accessories
  • Services & Fittings
  • Visitor favourite

A panel of experts judges entries based on precise criteria and elects a winner in each category.

This year’s panel comprised five experts : Maud Cadic co-owner of Mamie Mesure, Thomas Gouriou co-owner of Mont Vrac, Johanna Le Mau co-owner of Ô Bocal, Didier Onraita co-owner of the daybyday chain and Célia Rennesson co-founder and general manager of Réseau Vrac.

Together, they examined the entries, assessing the contribution to the development of the packaging-free sector, compliance with hygiene regulations and best practices, the product itself, its appeal to the senses, functionality and eco-design. In the case of a tie, the contribution to the development of the sector was the deciding factor.

The five entries with the highest marks were nominated for the visitor favourite award and visitors were invited to vote at the fair.

The award ceremony took place at 3pm on Tuesday 8 September at the Cité Fertile venue.

The prizes include :

  • a trophy per category to be passed on to next year’s winner
  • the right to use the Trophée du Vrac or Coup de Coeur Vrac logo for the year on the winning product, service or fitting
  • a full-page article about the winning product, service or fitting in the Mag du Vrac
  • an article in the News section of the Réseau Vrac website, relayed on social media
  • The winners are invited to be members of the judging panel the following year.
